Take Ruta Nacional 237 (east) out of Bariloche, following the shore of lake Nahuel Huapi, and cross river Limay. Make a first stop at the historical site commemorating the arrival of Perito Moreno to Nahuel Huapi, and enjoy a panoramic view of the town.
Then follow the river Limay to Valle Encantado, an enchanted valley where huge, strange rocky formations dot the mountainsides on either side of river, and are the "leitmotiv" of this half-day excursion through Rincón Chico, Rincón Grande, Villa Llanquín and Anfiteatro, a natural formation that looks like a Roman amphitheater.
Let your imagination run free among the rock figures to recognize God's Finger, the Stagecoach, the Elephant and the Express Train. Then drive on to Villa Traful through a steppe - forest transition landscape .
